The only way the fruit can change is if you enter a new town, by either temporarily visiting a friend's town and collecting fruit to plant in your own town, or deleting your existing town and starting a new one (you may or may not get different fruit than before). If you have more than one friend with the same game, you may be lucky enough to visit their towns and collect many different types of fruit to plant in your own town. An idea I came up with; I had a spare AC:WW game and got my friend to use it in her DS, she began a new town with cherry trees and I visited to collect cherries. Once I'd left that town, my friend (again) began another new town, this time with pears, so I visited again to collect pears to plant in my own town. You can keep doing this until you have all kinds of different fruit trees in your town. =o)
