Grow your hair with olive oil. It is extremely healthy for your skin and hair. Leave it in your hair for ten minutes, and then wash and condition regularly.

YOUR HAIR WILL GROW LIKE CRAZY, BELIEVE ME. I have curly hair too.

Use a shampoo with no sulfates, and an intensive moisturizing conditioner. Don't touch your hair other than that. No dying or straightening or anything until your hair is the length you want it to be.

I know first hand how frustrating it is to try and grow your hair......luckily I found something that has truly changed my hair.
I basically have had long hair all of my life. In my late 20's (I am now late 30's) I loved my hair it was almost to my butt, healthy and beautiful...................
    one day that all changed.
I went to get my usual trim and color from my stylist (or that's what I thought) and left there with what she called,"layering it from the inside-out". I left with the front in the length of a bob and the back had a tail down to my waist... Long story short,it never came back the same length or texture. For the longest time it would not grow. To add to that I started losing my hair for 2 reasons... stress and wearing ponytails excessively. It was really depressing.
There is hope though.....my sis-in-law started working with a special supplement co. and wanted me to test the results for hair growth..... we wanted to see the results for ourselves and make sure this product really works.

I am soooo happy to say.... this stuff works! It has been quite shocking.
I not only have crazy long hair that gets mistaken for extensions, but my hair loss has diminished. My hair is now back down to my waist, extremely healthy and looks beautiful.
I don't want to come off as selling a product,(although that's what it is).
You can email me if you would like my sis-in-laws info...... micheler@rock.com
I was so happy to finally find something that "really works", no lie. So if it works on a difficult case like mine.... I don't see how you wouldn't benefit in no time.
Please feel free to contact me....... Michele

I have dark brown-black, naturally-wavy hair, medium coarse, and a lot of it. It's taken me about 9 years to grow my hair from my shoulders to my waist, keeping the ends healthy with regular trims about 8-10 weeks apart. I always use a quality conditioner after shampooing, and protect my hair with several products before blow-drying. Consult your stylist on the best ones for you. A few times a week, a good blowout with a round boar-bristle brush helps to draw natural oils from the scalp from root to tip, adding protection and shine, and variety to your hairstyle. If using dye, limit applications to not less than 3 months apart, and always avoid ammonia, peroxide, bleach, excessive sun or chlorine, and all other harsh products, which are potentially damaging. I never took pre-natal vitamins, though several hairdressers swear by it, and also Jello, which is rich in keratin. Brands I like are REDKEN (spendy) and Tresseme (thrifty) and swear by quality serums applied to damp hair, sparingly.

Best advice I can offer is to find a hairstylist who LISTENS and RESPECTS your wishes, and always tell your stylist (even if you're a repeat client) before the shears come out, "I've been trying to grow my hair out for forever, and I just want to clean up the ends." Don't be afraid to try new products and RUN RUN RUN from any stylist wielding a razor. The ones you can trust will show you what a 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch, and 1/8 inch trim looks like--before snipping away. The better u treat your hair, the less you need to lose.

The best compliment I received was at the height of the extensions craze, when someone asked if my hair was real, if all of it was mine, and if I got asked that all the time:-) Be patient, and enjoy all the different phases--Good luck, you'll LOVE it.

Stop using anything which could damage it.. Dyeing, Straightening, hair spray, hair dryers, gel, etc. These things cause split ends and will make your hair less healthy and you wind up having to trim more off of it or risk your hair breaking off as it grows.

You can try extensions, but I heard they are not pleasant until you get used to them being sewn into your natural hair.

Normal trims also make your hair healthier and grow faster, most people's hair only grows about 6" or less a year.
