I love taking a cold shower or bath after cleaning myself in the hot one, makes me feel invigorated.
There has been some research done that indicates that a cold bath, for about 20minutes, then thawing out again, is beneficial for all sorts of things, including the immune system, and the heart. All related to the endocrine system stimulation, I believe.

It's mostly a myth. However... hair is made of keratin, and the keratin has a surface called the "cuticle" -- (yes, same word as for the tissue at the base of your fingernails).

A cool or cold rinse supposedly makes the cuticle lie flat, all in one direction, and supposedly this makes the hair less brittle and perhaps more shiny.

But that's two uses of "supposedly" and one "perhaps" all in one sentence! :)
