Here's the deal: you are female (I gather) and you had sex with a man, therefore you could indeed be pregnant.

I presume given that you haven't said otherwise you are physically capable of having children, i.e. you have a uterus.

My sister was on the pill for years, she had sex with her husband without a condom, so she decided to take the morning after pill. She took it within 72 hours. Around two months later she had an abortion. The pills didn't work.

The pill, condoms and the morning after pill ARE NOT fool proof. If you use them, you chances of getting pregnant are reduced. If you use them all at once according to the instructions, then your chance of getting pregnant is extremely slim, but not impossible.

When you have sex with a member of the opposite sex you need to do so knowing that you could become pregnant, no matter what precautions you use, whether it be standing on your head post ejaculation or taking pills.

Obviously you are doing everything you can to protect yourself from unplanned pregnancy. I applaud you for that, but be cautious of taking emergency contraceptive regularly. As a healthcare professional, I would warn against the overuse of such high dose hormone contraceptives. If you are not comfortable only using the pill, you could try to use spermicide and a diaphragm as well.

You're doing a little over kill here. If your taking the pill as directed and not on any other medications including recreational drugs, antidpressants, and antibiotics you will not get pregnant. But if you still are unsure you could try adding condoms or other forms of spermicide to your birth control like the film or the gel spermacide. I do want to warn you that taking that much birth control could really mess up your body's hormonal balance. You need to tell your doctor what you are doing.
And on a more personal note, if you are this fearful of getting pregnant maybe you should stop having sex for awhile. It sounds to me like you're just not comfortable enough yet with this to be doing it. Just back off and give yourself more time to be ready. Remember, this is your life and your body, do what feels right by you. And forget what everyone else wants, including your boyfriend at least on this subject.

If you are using that much birth control and still paranoid about getting pregnant, should you even be having sex?

Being responsible is one thing, but you don't need to be so damn scared.

You're question wasn't fully completed when you stated it but the title is "chances of getting pregnant on the pill". I'm sorry to tell you but the pill has a 50/100 chance of working. My one friend has been on the pill and has not been pregant but my other friend takes the pill and just got pregnant! So I hope i answered your question!

I think you must be very anxious about getting pregnant. You've been on the pill for a year and are just now letting your bg ejaculate inside. He's a champ for staying around that long. Now you say that you also took the morning after pill too. That is too much. You don't need a morning after pill if you're taking birth control pills too. It's true that the pill doesn't work for everybody, but most people it does and very well. I took it for 20 years and never got pregnant except when I went off the pill and planned to.

you could still be pregnant.. but the morning after pill is most effective within that 72 hour time frame, so chances are you're not. you probably want to take a pregnancy test just to make sure.. (take it if you miss your period.. you could get a false negative if you take it too soon)
also, you might want to consider using condoms if you're worried about becoming pregnant. the pill is a highly effective way to prevent pregnancy, but it's not 100% effective, and there are things that can make the pill not do its job, like being on antibiotics, or not taking it at or around the same time every day.

There's always a chance, no matter when you take the pill. Just don't get surprised by it or anything...

If you're on the pill and taking it as directed, there is no need to worry about your boyfriend ejaculating inside of you, as the pill is more than 99% effective when you take it *exactly as the directions indicate*. The pill protects against pregnancy, so there is no need to use another method of birth control or emergency contraception. The pill keeps you from ovulating, so there is NO egg to be fertilized even if your boyfriend does ejaculate inside of you.

Do doctors not explain what the pill is for anymore or how it works? Do they just hand it out and expect everyone to use it correctly?

True I got pregnant on the pill al so to many outside drugs effect the result of the pill. If you are looking for a better method there are more out there I happen to like the depo shot and it has proven good for the last 3 years for me. I just don't see the since in spending all that money for something so unreliable.

It's always possible for a women to become pregnant if she's fertile.

You may also want to ask yourself how implicitly you trust your boyfriend and how well he knows his health history, becasue without a condom (and sometimes even with one) you can contract a sexually transmitted disease. Pregnacy or STD; either one will change your life. Be safe.

I rely totally on my birth control. Been with the same guy for over three years. He always ejaculates inside me mand we have sex often enough that I always have his sperm in me. I've never worried about being pregnant.
