Panasonic dvd player works fine for 20 minutes and then looses video signal and screen goes blue. Audio keeps working fine.

We have a Disney Princess dvd vhs combo. The vhs/vcr works fine but the dvd play says "incorrect disc". What is wrong?

Plugging in DVD/plug in awkward place/caused sparks back of DVD/now not working. Not plug fuse. Is it a write-off now? Thank you.
