I think your mom's a LITTLE more important than your boyfriend, in this case!!! Spend time with her......she won't be around forever, you know, and then you can see him later in the day, if you must, or BETTER YET...why not have a 'day after birthday celebration' for your boyfriend, with just the two of you????
Your mom would appreciate your spending some time with her on 'her' day!!
