  • According to KidsHealth.org, a teenager's blood pressure is considered high if he is in the 90th percentile or above for his age group and height (i.e., the highest 10 percent when compared to his peers). According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, boys ages 16 to 17 should have a blood pressure no higher than 135/84 mm Hg (younger teenage boys should not exceed 130/80 mm Hg) if they are to remain below the 90th percentile. Teenage girls' blood pressure should not be more than 127/81 mm Hg (for older teens) or 123/79 mm Hg for younger teens.
