Credit card applications allow a creditor to determine whether or not to issue a person credit. Companies review applications and determine your ability to pay along with your past credit history.
Contact Information
The first thing you'll need to provide is your contact information including address, phone number and e-mail. The credit card company will use this to verify your application and send you future correspondence.
Income
In order to extend credit, creditors want to know your income. They use this to determine whether you will be able to pay at least the minimum payments once your application is approved.
Social Security Number
Yo will be asked for your social security number. This is needed to check your credit history --- the main criteria companies use to determine whether to accept your application.
Co-Applicant Information
If you need a co-applicant in order to get approved, you will also have to fill in your co-applicant's information on the form.
Approval Process
Once your application is approved, the company will let you know your credit limit and the interest rate on your card. If your application is denied, the company must send you a letter in writing explaining the reason.
