    Fatty liver disease, also known as hepatic lipidosis, is caused by a sudden accumulation of fat cells inside the liver that the body fails to utilize. Symptoms of fatty liver disease include weight loss, excessive thirst, and vomiting. A biopsy will need to be done by your veterinarian to determine a diagnosis.

    Hyperthyroidism

    Hyperthyroidism is an overactive thyroid gland and is common in older cats. Increased appetite and vomiting are symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
