    The oldest Nikon DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera is the D1, which was officially announced on Jun 15, 1999. It was the first DSLR built entirely by one of the big manufacturer. At the time, its closest competitor, the Kodak DCS 620 was built on a Nikon body.
