Although Air India was launched in 1932, most of India's airlines are newbies. Jet Airways launched in 1993, and Spice Jet, formerly Royal Airways, began flying in 2005. Budget airlines include Kingfisher, the Mumbai-based IndiGo, Paramount Airways (since 2005) and two Delhi-based companies, Jagson Airlines from 1992, and Indus Air.
