Causes

Complications

Complications if cirrhosis include a higher risk of liver cancer, hypertension, malnutrition, a buildup of toxins, and reduced resistance to infection.

Prevention

You can reduce your risk of cirrhosis by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding frequent alcohol use, being careful about chemical use, and avoiding unprotected sex or sharing needles.
