Quality customer service is essential when you work with customers. They are more likely to come back for business at your establishment if they receive good customer service. Customer service is asking what your customers are in need of and attaining what they need. Doing this courteously and as smoothly as possible is quality customer service.
Connection
Make sure you talk to the customer like he is your only one today. Ask open-ended questions so that you can figure out what the customer wants faster and easier.
Retail
If you're working in retail and ringing up a customer for a purchase, focus your attention on the customer. Don't talk to your co-workers or get distracted by doing something else. Make sure the customer was able to get everything he needed at your business.
Sales
When selling a product, be sure to get in touch with the customer's needs. Ask many questions and spend some time with the customer.
Over the Phone
If you're with a customer on the phone be sure to be cordial and polite even if the customer is not. Always talk in a professional manner and speak with a respectful voice.
Word of Mouth
Remember, when you give quality customer service, those customers are going to tell people they know. This can lead to more customers coming through your business. Word of mouth is the cheapest form of advertisement, saving your business money.
