Herpes is one of the main causes of viral diseases. Let's examine the ways in which you can contract herpes.
Types of Herpes
There are two types of herpes: HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 are cold sores. HSV2 infects the genitals. HSV1 or HSV2 can infect the mouth or genitals.
Transmission
Oral sex from someone with a cold sore transmits HSV1 herpes. Sex with a person who has a blister or sore spreads HSV2 herpes. Sex with someone with no signs of infection as well as or skin-to-skin contact spreads herpes.
HSV1 and HSV2
HSV1 can be contracted during oral, vaginal or anal sex. Vaginal or anal sex with an HSV2-infected partner can spread HSV2.
Symptoms
You may experience burning in the genitals and flu-like symptoms. Red bumps appear on your mouth or genitals that become painful blisters or sores and crust, then heal. Subsequent outbreaks are less intense and shorter.
Don't Ignore The Signs
Some may dismiss their symptoms. Do not have sex if you believe you are infected. See a physician immediately.
Prevention/Solution
Abstaining from sex, being monogamous or wearing a condom help to prevent contracting herpes. There is no cure for herpes.
