According to homeopath, John Claydon D. Hom, eating a raw egg is safe because the risk is minuscule, as only 1 in 30,000 eggs are infected with salmonella. The benefits of absorbing nutrients of raw eggs outweighs the obscure risk of contracting salmonella poisoning.

Salmonella does exist and can make people very ill. The FDA is the agency that determines what foods are deemed safe to eat. Due to the risk of the harmful bacteria salmonella, the FDA recommends that all eggs are fully cooked before being consumed.
