Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer that can occur at any age. According to the Mayo Clinic, the disease develops in your lympathic system which is meant to help you fight diseases. The cancer develops from a type of white blood cell.
Symptoms
Fever, night sweats, fatigue, stomach pain or chest pain are among the more common symptoms of the disease.
Diagnosis
A physician will need to perform several tests to rule out or confirm the existence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Tests used include blood tests, urine tests, CT scans and biopsies.
Treatment
Drugs, chemotherapy, radiation and biotherapy are amongst the treatments offered depending on the individual and the severity of the disease.
Causes
There is no known cause for the development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It develops from an overactive white blood cells but the reason behind the white blood cell activity is not yet known.
Tips
The earlier any cancer is caught, the better the survival rate of the patient. If you are concerned that you may have non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, you should see a doctor immediately.
