For most construction projects, several tools are commonly used no matter what project is being completed. These tools are the circular saw, the pneumatic nail gun and the air compressor. The tools used in construction differ greatly depending on the project being completed but an understanding of the manner in which a circular saw, pneumatic nail gun and air compressor are used lays the foundation for an individual to gain an understanding of other construction tools.

The Circular Saw

In construction work, the circular saw is the single most operated tool. When using a circular saw for the first time, it is imperative that you use the wrench tool that comes with the circular saw to ensure the blade is properly tightened. Take the circular saw and plug it into an electrical outlet. Be careful not to depress the trigger until ready to use the saw. Place the saw on the wood to be cut by lining the blade up with the mark made on the wood to indicate the proper place to cut. Depress the rigger on the saw and push the saw forward to begin cutting into the wood. Use the indicator at the front of the saw to ensure that the blade remains on the cut line. Each day, before connecting the tool to the air hoses, apply three drops of pneumatic tool oil into the end of the pneumatic nail gun where the hose connects. This allows for lubrication of the moving parts within the pneumatic nailer and greatly increases the life of the tool. Load the holder on the gun with nails designed for the model of pneumatic nail gun being used and connect the air hose to the gun. Be careful to keep your fingers away from the trigger when the gun is not in use to avoid an accidental firing of the nail gun. Although equipped with a safety that depresses when the gun is placed into contact with the wood that is being nailed, the gun may accidental discharge if the safety mechanism comes into contact with another object while the trigger is depressed. Failure to adhere to this recommendation can cause serious harm.
