  • Many people who experience a tremendous amount of stress might feel anxiety from time to time, especially when a big project is due. However, some people who cannot handle this increased stress begin to have issues with it, and it can lead to panic disorders. If you can keep control of the stress in your life and recognize the symptoms of a panic attack, you can overcome panic disorder.

    Handling the Stress

To overcome panic disorders, it is important to recognize that the cause of panic disorders is stress and then handle it. An effective way to handle stress is to do yoga. Yoga is a form of exercise that involves stretching and breathing so that you achieve harmony within your body. Do a little yoga every morning, even for just 15 minutes, to start the day stress free. Find an activity that you can vent through. For some people, that might be writing and getting thoughts on paper. For others, it might be playing a musical instrument. Recognize the panic disorder before it becomes big so that you can overcome it by controlling it. Sit down and relax your shoulders. Sit up straight and tighten your left leg muscles before relaxing them. Do the same to the right leg. Move up your body to each of the muscle groups so that you can relax them. Keep in mind that your breathing is key. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth as if you're blowing out a candle. Aerobic exercise can create a calm feeling. Running or other exercise releases endorphins, which make you feel better. More importantly, though, this helps get your mind off what might be causing the panic attack.
