The legality and safety of purchasing drugs on the Internet depend on three things: the origin of the drug, the type of drug, and the volume. It is generally legal and safe to purchase drugs from Canada that are not controlled substances, in up to a 90-day supply, and with a copy of a valid prescription.
On the Other: Buying From Overseas
If you are importing a controlled substance from an overseas pharmacy in quantities larger than a three-month supply, with or without a prescription, legal penalties can be stiff. But the laws are rarely enforced. Regarding safety, there is more doubt when a drug comes from overseas pharmacies, as they are not necessarily regulated on the level of Canadian pharmacies.
Bottom Line
If you are considering purchasing drugs from an online pharmacy to save money, or for another reason, then your safest bet is to buy from a Canadian-based company.
