Mormonism is a religion that is practiced by individuals who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. People who belong to this religion believe the family unit is central in societies, and people within family units should only express themselves sexually once they've reached certain stages of adulthood.
Marriage
Mormons believe marriage should be between a man and a woman, who have a responsibility to have and raise children. People in this religion think couples, especially husbands, should decide when to have children and how many children to have, according to Lds-mormon.com.
Sterilization
Although Mormons do not condemn the use of birth control by couples, they think women should only get tubal ligation and men should only get a vasectomy if these methods of sterilization could save someone's life or prevent birth defects. They also believe people should only use birth control for a limited period of time, according to Lds-mormon.com.
Unmarried Individuals
Mormons believe teenagers and unmarried adults do not need to use birth control because they should remain abstinent until they are married. Teens are expected to not start dating until they are 16 and not get married until after males have finished their mission trip and females have completed high school, according to Jefflindsay.com.
Abortion
To most members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, abortion is considered to be a form of murder. People within the religion are expected to not pay for, perform or get an abortion, according to Light Planet.
Masturbation
For Mormons, the main purpose of sex is to express love and create babies. Any other form of release, such as masturbation, is condemned by members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints.
