    Green tea is touted as being beneficial in lowering bad cholesterol and raising good cholesterol numbers due to it's content of epigallocatechin-3-gallate-EGCG. This type of tea contains anywhere from 20 to 100 mg of EGCG per one cup of tea, depending on how strong you make it.
