A dirty windshield can inhibit visibility and make driving unsafe. Your car's windshield should be cleaned regularly with the proper materials.
Cleaning
When cleaning a windshield, be sure to use a clean, dry rag. Paper towels work well. Spray on whatever you are using to clean the windshield and then wipe it off with the towel until the window is completely clean and dry. This may take several passes.
Wipers
Be sure to lift the windshield wipers to clean the glass underneath. Make sure your wipers are in good shape. If they are not, replace them.
Inside
Don't neglect the inside of the window. When you're applying a vinyl polish such as Armor All, it is common for some to get on the windshield. Clean the entire surface down to the base of the window above the defroster vents.
Windex
One of the most common ways to clean a windshield is with Windex or a similar common household glass cleaner.
Specialty Cleaners
In addition to Windex, there are glass cleaners made specifically for cars that can be bought at auto parts stores and glass shops.
