There are a number of factors that will determine the value of your antique camera. Each is just as important as the other and as a whole will determine how much your antique camera is worth.
Condition
Antique cameras in original condition and working are worth more than cameras that do not work or have been over-restored. Cleaning an antique camera is advised, however, keeping the original look is important. Having the case and instructions will increase the value as well.
Make and Model
Some makes and models of antique cameras are more popular than others, such as the Leica, because they were made by Leitz. Unusual or rare cameras are worth more as well. Also, your antique camera rises in value if film is still made for it.
Interest
Some antique cameras are of higher interest to collectors then others, based on the brand, the type of frame camera, design features, styling and whether there is historical value, such as being featured in a film or commercial.
Location
Where your antique camera was made can be important as well, especially when dealing with lesser-known brands. A small manufacturer will draw more interest in its own country, while there be less interest in other countries.
Miscellaneous
Age and the original price might play no role in how much an antique camera is worth. Unlike other items that go up in value with age, antique cameras do not necessarily. Also, the original price can be a good starting point of the value, however, the value can still vary greatly.
