    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The average cost to raise a child from birth to age 17 depends on a number of variables. However, a two-parent family whose income is less than $39,100 spends an average of $124,800 to raise a child. A single parent in the same income bracket spends an average of $118,590. These numbers are based upon the 2001 Consumer Price Index.

It depends how much you spend. Cribs, car seats, toys, birthday parties for friends, gifts, clothing, Christmas, vacations, furniture for their room, activities, sports, music lessons, school pictures, diapers, medicines, head lice shampoo, sleeping bags and camping equipment, water bottles, donuts, books, photographs, fund raising events, club fees, graduation gifts, driver's education, year books, cell phones (maybe), post secondary education, wedding gifts. They cost about 90% of all you're worth!!
