  • Well When my playstation 2 wasnt working I just sent it to the company and they returned back brand new
  • Hold it to the light, if you can see light through the scratch than the data is gone and the game will not work even if you can buff the scratch itself out of the plastic covering. The data is closer to the label side than the 'bottom' of the disk. When a scratch occurs on the topside, there is little you can do to fix that since it is more likely to effect the data than a scratch on the bottom. This is why you don't ever write on disks with anything other than a felt tip marker. Scratches on the bottom simply fragment the laser that reads through the thick layer of plastic to the data. Buffing out those scratches lets the laser reach the data undeterred... but if the data is gone, there is nothing for the laser to read in that section. If you cannot see light through the scratch than you can try to use the toothpaste a few more times to buff it out (don't forget to wash it off before using it...). Otherwise you may want to use some scrath removing tools or kits, some used game places will buff your disks for a few dollars. They have the bigger machines to do them, that's why they usually can guarantee their used games to be scratch free or functional.
  • dont use any of that stuff it doesnt work work ive tryed it on my game but it just messed it up more and the thing about seeing through the scatches sometimes is right but only in certain places on the top of the game
  • you could just go down to gamestop and pick up a five dollar bottle of disc fixer. or put a lit match under it, that would melt the plastic and it would seep into the scratches. or buy a new copy of the game.
  • I got my disk fixed in GAME cost me £2.99
