Help answer this question below.
AB user were difficult to share their questions and answers to other people and if you want to find valued information for yourself, same, difficult. AB should improve this point.

most people don't like add friend, right?
by stanleydu on March 22nd, 2010
stanleydu:
1) it is not my impression. One does not add friends, one can just make or accept a friend request. I don't remember having rejected a friend request. Also, as I have already 252 users on my friends list, I rarely make friends requests myself.
If you make a friend request, it is better that you have had at least a discussion with the person on a comment thread before, because some users won't accept friend requests from users whom they absolutely don't know.
2) My last comment was asking for a clarification because I was not sure if I had understood your answer. Could you give some examples of what you said?
What do you mean with "AB user were difficult to share their questions and answers to other people" ? And for the second part ("if you want to find valued information for yourself, same, difficult"), do you mean that you don't get good answers to your questions?
And how do you think that AB could make it better?

iwnit:
glad to get your response, here are some my point:
1) why people add friend? How people add friend?
we should know why people add friend and the way people add friend first.
Making friends on AB actually is not difficult to do but making good friends that people'll enjoy question and answer with takes time and patience. Learning how to make friends on AB is an important part of this networking opportunity. The friends people find and get to know will make or break how effective this tool will become for people's business or personal life.
So, microblogingg service's communication mechanism is better for find good friends. Follow first and then add friend if you are interesting and indeed. "Chat in comments before" is really a good explain, it seems like the follow first and then add friend, but it related the SHARE.
2) If you only chat in comment (let's see it is Follow first), how could people share to their friends in comments? For a question or an answer, comments should be important for people to evaluate the value whether worth to learn or discuss.
Knowledge Share firstly should build a culture. The culture should not ask people "You should answer the question and then you can get more knowledge!" My point is - the culture should be
"step one: what I can gain from here?
step two: why I should share here?
step three: Who can help me?
Step four: What I need help here?
Step five: I should let people know what I need help
Step six: AB could help me find people to help me
Step seven: AB could tell me who or what I can do or help for people
Step eight: I get valued information and the same time people gain my help"
Maybe we can discuss more in the furture.

stanleydu: Answerbag is not a chatroom or a contact site. It is basically a question and answer site. People are supposed to come here basically because they are looking for answers to their questions. For this reason, because the intention is different, it cannot be compared to some other sites that could be more appropriate for their particular goals.
The advantage of Answerbag over other Q&A sites is that it also gives some possibilities for the users to have contacts with one another, like in the comment threads, where some non answer related chats could take place from time to time. Now, we have also the Answerbag intern messaging system for one to one communication.
You have interesting ideas about how a site could be constructed. Maybe you could also build a site in that manner. However, this is not the schema on which Answerbag is based.
It would be more like: "I have a question, could you please answer it?". So you could just ask all the questions that you list in your steps one to eight on Answerbag to get them answered. Or better, you could just first enter your questions in the "Find your answer" field to find if those questions (or similar) have already been asked. By doing it that way, you first avoid to ask again questions that have already been asked (duplicates), and second you could directly find your answer without having to wait for them.

iwnit: you are right. our team are building a new knowledge sharing platform based on my mind. It's different with AB or other QA sites,we focused on how to give user Intelligence what they want and help other people when they share simultaneously.
But practically, I'm appreciate with AB and Naver's KiN. AB is really a great community.
