Help answer this question below.
it has short circuited because probably condensation had formed inside and when you turned it on it short circuited i suggest that you try again tommorow and if it dosent turn on i suggest sending it to sony. Or you could open take out the hard drive transfer all memory onto a potable hard drive and buy a new PS3 then in transfer thye memory the memory on to that PS3
PS3's are sensitive pieces of tech, advanced yes, but incredibly sensitive. I overheated mine and damaged the motherboard, now won't turn on. It's being sent in to Sony to get fixed.
I'm guessing you'll have to do the same, even though the problem is different. It's not nearly as expensive as one might think, and it's definitely better than just saying "Oh I'll just get a PS3 Slim for Christmas".
The only real drawback is that it takes about a month to fix (longer in the holiday seasons), and if you have any friends on PlayStation Network, you won't be able to contact them (unless you have their phone number or email addresses).
I just got a new ps3. I did a quick format on it, but I need it fully reset (update data and all). How long will it take?

You're reading My PS3 won't power on after getting cold in car. I allowed it to warm up for 90 min, turned on main pwr, got red light, but when I switched game on light went dark. Can't get red light again - just dead. I'm guessing s/thing shorted. HELP?
