Each time you take a pill, the levels of the different hormones in them go up, or increase. My pharmacist told me my safest bet would be 1 months worth just to be sure.
At least a couples weeks at the minimum, but if you got on it in the first place, what's the hurt in waiting? Better safe than sorry.
It all depends on what type of BCP you are now using. Are they low dose or the normal BCP? Most traditional forms of birth control should be in your system for at least three weeks for complete protection. Your birth control package should also explain how they work in the directions. Call your local clinic or doctor who prescribed your BCP, or local family planning clinic and they should be able to tell you exactly.
