The Vatican is pushing to make Pope John Paul a saint now, more quickly than usual. Do you think he deserves it more than Mother Theresa or others? Is it political? Do you care?

First of all, Catholics do not pray to Saints for divine intervention, forgiveness or anything like that. Catholics pray to the Saints to ask them to pray for us here on Earth. Since the Saints are already in God's kingdom, we feel that it is always better to have the more prayers, the better.

No deserves to be a saint more than anyone else. It is not a competition. Beautification and Cannonization are processes where the individual's life is looked at for works, spirituality and miracles attributed to that person. John Paul certainly will be considered for sainthood at some point. Many of his writings were some of the greatest work the Church has had. He brought Christians from all over the world together. He served God in a dignified but humble manner. Yes, he deserves to be considered for sainthood. As to whether or not there are politics involved, tell me a church or religious organization that does not have it share of politics.

Saint- In general, the term Saint refers to someone who is exceptionally virtuous and holy. It can be applied to both the living and the dead and is an acceptable term in most of the world's popular religions. The Saint is held up by the community as an example of how we all should act, and his or her life story is usually recorded for the edification of future generations.

I don't think he should be a saint or deserves it, or anybody else. A saint is someone who is holy, and usually biblical. No one deserves to be prayed except God and his Son. No offence to any other religion.

Yes. I do think he deserves sainthood. Politics I believe are somewhat involved. I know Mother Theresa deserved sainthood though, and I was upset when I found out she was denied. She sacrificed her life to serve God and his people. Yes she did question her faith, but who hasn't? Chance are most people have.
