Selected by the asker, Mister IT is trying to Liahona outta here. (What's this?)

False. The Bible is the word of God. The Holy Spirit is well able to clarify passages that seem contradictory. In fact, if you're not reading the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit, you're pretty much losing out.

    Absolutely false.

The bible is a true book and contains God's word.

That would be like dismissing the Book of Mormon simply because on the title page there is the disclaimer that "if there are faults they are the mistakes of men."

    Does it matter?

.false(in the traditional use of the phrase)We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
    .
true(sort of)- i find that calling the bible the "word of god" misleading about the origin of the bible. while much of the bible contains word spoken by god to man, one should remember that it is words spoken to man and told to another man and then recorded and translated and retranslated with the opinions and biases of the translator included.
    .
that being said i do believe that many versions of the bible are translated mostly correct and contain many great truths. my objection is that most of the bible is not literally the "word of god" as many would mistakenly believe by that title.

False. The idea that God's Word cannot contain contradictions is incredibly naive.

If you're dealing with formal mathematical systems then yes, if you have a contradiction then something in there must be false. Any question you ask in mathematics has a yes or not answer. Is seven a prime number? Either it is or it isn't. Is the sine function the first derivative of the cosine function? Either it is or it isn't. If you were to ask a rigorously defined mathematical question you would never expect someone to answer with, "Yes and no." That would be a contradiction, and therefore would be false.

But in natural language one hears that answer, "Yes and no." Not all the time, but frequently enough. It means that the question wasn't rigorously defined; there's some ambiguity there. It's definitely not lying, necessarily, for someone who says, "Yes and no"; instead it could very possibly to be the absolute truth. And yet, mathematically, it is still a contradiction.

If humans can use contradiction in a natural language to make a point, why can't God?

    False.
The Bible is God's word. Yes it does contain some errors, for example I'm sure the original author of Kings did not actually write about zombies here:
"when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses" 2 Kings 19:35
It also contains some contradictions. But for as old as it is and for as many translations and recopyings as it's been through the errors are remarkably few, and nearly non-existant when it comes to important matters.
The Bible is God's word, or to be more accurate, it is a record of many of the splenderous words God has given to man either through face to face communication or by the whisperings of the Holy Ghost.
And any errors contained with in the Bible are simply the result of the imperfection of man.

IT...you always try to frame your questions in such a way as to catch us in our words, much like the Scribes and Pharisee's did with Christ.

This particular question cannot be answered with a simple "True" or "False" statement on our part.

Does the Bible contain Words spoken by God? Absolutely! Does the Bible also contain words substituted by men? Absolutely!

Does this concern us greatly? NO! Because we have in our Church, Prophets, Seers and Revelators, who can know the mind and will of God and can interpret the scriptures according to God's will.

And since we do not depend entirely on the Bible for the source of our doctrines, we have the best of both worlds. That which came from God in the Bible. And that which came from the same God to modern day Prophets.

And because of that we have the whole truth, of which we will gladly share with anyone who wishes to broaden their horizons...Later
