UTTERly ridiculous!
It is because muscles look more defined when the skin is darker. Anyone with darker skin would have an advantage when it came to judging, so everyone makes themselves dark. It doesn't really have anything to do with aesthetics, and most guys actually tend to hate that part of the contest prep.
Bodybuilders apply tanning spray to their bodies because the people they are trying to impress love that sort of thing. They make a living by making those people happy.
Im 15 and am suffering from a severe knee injury and unable to join a gym what is the easiest and most effective way of bulking up my torso?

You're reading Why do most bodybuilders choose to apply massive amounts of tanning spray to their bodies? Does anyone else think this looks ridiculous?

My thoughts exactly. Especially when the face is three shades lighter than the body. Or worse when they do match, they look like they are in black-face!
