1988 chevy silverado bogging down when accelerated, idles fine with MAP sensor unhooked, With MAP hooked up, idle is erratic, and bogs out when accelerating, occasional backfire through carb. Replaced fuel pump, filter, relay, spark plugs, wires, rotor.

    If you get no pick up and the MPG is about 2/3 of what it should be you could try cleaning out the catalytic converter. (or get a new one.) I've seen this happen twice.

    I was having a similar problem with my 1991 Chevy. When I stomped on the gas it would bog down or die. A new fuel filter fixed it for me but it looks like you already tried that.

    that just sounds like a bad Bow Tie I recomend a BIP this is achieved by parking the vehicle in an unused part of your neighborhood inserting a rag of any color or material I.E. wool or cotton I recomend Cotton into the fuel fill nozzle leaving approximatel 4-5 inches hanging out and then use the handyman secret weapon a BIC light said rag and run like hell problem solved,you have just performed a BLOW IN PLACE..have a great day and happy motoring
