I would assume that they were already sock puppets and the person just forgot which character was supposed to be which.

I just don't understand why people do that. I don't find it amusing to "play" with people here like that. Behind these avatars are real people with feelings...
I suppose it's a form of a sockpuppet -- certainly just as deceptive.

I have had something similar done to me by two friends, I was annoyed at first and told them off about it, but later I did see the funny side, they got me on a bad day an that sort of joke was just not in place, but I do have a good sense of humour anyway :)

You're a tool. All starting shit where there was none. I am not even going to get into this with you. People were pissed... we fucking got it and switched back. We thought it would be fun and did nothing to hurt anyone. And a sockpuppet is someone that has more than one account for the purpose of URing themselves. We used our own accounts and they were just designed to look like the other one's profile. This is like old news now. We're sorry!!! Get a hobby or something and let it go already.

This is the LAST TIME I am going to post about this.

As long as they have given their password to the other member and it is not malicious to do it once for fun is okay as long as they do not cause problems.

I do not believe in ANY Sockpuppet accounts. to me it is cheating.

I would consider it troll-like behavior.

If it was intended to be a short-term prank for humor only, then no... I would not consider them to be sockpuppets, trolls, or even DreAnnas.

From what I understand though... the two members in question realize that this was a poor judgement call on their part and have apologized.

    We all make mistakes.

Those of us who learn from them, apologize, and move on are better people than those of us who can't accept an apology and continue to beat people down for their mistakes.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what they did.
Their intentions weren't to be malicious or deceitful, just to have some fun.
I'm sure if they knew certain people were to respond this way, they wouldn't have done it because again, their motives weren't to toy with people's mind.
Can I call you Mr. Sensitive now?

It is all about motive, ice man. If they were just having fun it is one thing, but if they were intentionally trying to cause trouble, that is another.

I don't think I would notice. I have grown to like some people here, but I also take each message as it comes.
