Help answer this question below.

Our tv was working fine then the sound started acting up.The cable runs thru a dvd/vcr combo. It started when watching a dvd. The sound went low and tv started humming. Stops when audio cable is unplugged. Do I need a new cable?

    yes, you do. try borrowing or using a second one. if it does the same thing, check the input/output plugs on the vcr/dvd combo. if it turns out to be the dvd/vcr combo, you need to get it repaired, or get a new system. hope this helps.
