When paying a bill ,if it is post marked on the that bills due datee will the post marked date make the bill safe if it arrives a few days late

    Not usually! The money normally has to be in the hands of the receiver BY the due date or it's late! So, when you mail, you need to allow the time for the money to get there and the busier the season (Holiday!), the longer it takes to get there, so plan accordingly!

    Depends on the contract you have with the company. I can do this with my electric bill, but not my cable bill.

    yeah i used to work for a credit card company in the collections department and i know for us the money had to be in on the due date. this infuriated a lot of people because they couldnt understand that just because it's postmarked for that day doesnt mean we don't still count it as late.

    not where i work the bill even says must reach our payment center by 5pm est. the creditor wants money on due date not afterward.
