If the moon was totally destroyed by a massive impactor (say a near earth asteroid), what would be some of the effects here on Earth?

    for one thing Earths orbit would become irratic effecting the climate, the oceans would change, probably a lot of indirect effects we dont yet know.

    it would destroy the earth too the moon is so close too earth it only takes about 1 second for light to get to the moon from earth
