  • Yikes - not good. I would find a reputable piercing place and have them assess the piercing. They may be able to replace the stud with a ring and help advise you on aftercare to minimize the possible damage.
  • No real professional will use a gun for any piercing. Compared to needles, they are traumatic and can't be sterilized. Find a real pro and ask them if they can insert some sterilized body quality jewelry in for you, and ask them about aftercare. It may take longer to heal, since guns create more ragged wounds than needles, and cartilage is very slow to heal anyway. I wouldn't say remove the piercing unless you feel it was very poorly done or if after a year it still seems tender. Or unless you just want to.
