A council designed to protect poverty-stricken Aboriginals in Sydney has reportedly given wealthy boxer Anthony Mundine between $60,000 and $80,000 sponsorship money, saying that it was 'to promote the land rights movement". What are your thoughts?

    The treatment of the aboriginal peoples of Australia has been atrocious sice the first settlers landed there. Systematic genocide for a couple of centuries is a scar on that nation. Even though improvements have been made, there is still inherent racism in Aostralia, so this sponsorship deal does little address the serious issue of land rights.
