the only way to tell how old your turtle is, is to take it to a vet and let them take tissue samples of it.
cut it in half and count the rings inside
Check his driver's license.
A professor of Herpetology at your nearest University (where that subject is taught) should be able to help you make that determination. If no University is nearby (with that subject), a qualified Veterinarian might be of help, also.
