Help answer this question below.
Humanity is a result of evolution. This takes place over thousands of years and requires a strong core population with small mutations resulting in positive outcome being passed down.
For the vast most part, a breeding group starting with only two would die out due to lack of genetic diversity. The only exception I know to this is the cheetah. It has been decided that they were one individual away from extinction... a pregnant female.
However, the cheetah population is so genetically similar that one disease could obliterate them.
Humans never reached the stage of one individual. We evolved from, they think, Homo Erectus, which was a large population. If I am wrong about Homo Erectus, please correct me, do not shoot me. I am rusty on my human evolution.
Homo Sapien has been widely successful so, of course, evolution continued, branching us off into genetically diverse groups so not all of us have the same skin color, etc.
I have wondered about this before too. I think it's an evolutionary thing that has to do with where the different peoples were concentrated around the globe, and the environment they were in. Northern landmasses seem to have a lot of pale skinned people, while nations closer to the equator seem to have darker skinned peoples. I think they evolved that way due to the amount of sunlight they were exposed to over thousands of years. Good question, not a dumb one. +3
Go to answersingenesis.org for great answers. There is only one race and one skin color. The color that you see is melanin. Melanin is a chemical coloring that the skin makes to protect people from the sun.
