My belief is the author of that calendar either died or got tired of writing at the time it was written.
That it doesn't look as neat as 11-11-2111
Actually, the correct date is supposedly December 21, 2012, although some sources have reported a date for the end of the Mayan calendar as being December 24, 2011.

That its just a way to scare people.
nothing will happen.
None of that Hollywood/History Channel crap is going to happen.
its so stupiddddddddd. its obviously not gonna happen DUH
21st actually :D
ya, i think it will happen.
but you can also say it's to warn the people to start curing the earth..problem is, no one believes in it, so it's not working..
you say it'll take another 100 years...but u have only lived for 16 (i don't no ur age sorry), but the earth for billion years.n it's time up..it too is MATTER...and matter doesn't exist forever...
if they say the sun will go out in time...who says the earth is more powerful than the sun to go out after a 100 more years..?
i think it's true.
no problem though just accept it, don't worry about it...live together die alone :D
It is the day between 11-12-2012 and 13-12-2012. There is no reason to believe that it will be any different from any other random day: something bad might happen that day, because bad things do happen, but probably won't, because really bad things are rare.
I believe that it will be just like any other day that falls in between December 11th and December 13th. I'll go to work and come home like any other Wednesday.
it is complete and utter nonsense that no one should really care about
I thought it was the 24th. Anyway I don't get into all that stuff I think it's a load of crap. People predicted that something would happen in 2000 too & were all still here breathing. Just another reason for people to running around scared & acting strange. But you'll never know until that day comes until then I'm living my life like i usually do.
I believe we cannot dismiss everything that has been written and passed down through out history, a lot of old civilisations were more in tune with there surroundings and nature, but yes i do think certain people are scaremongering but at the same time a lot of these natural disasters have already taken place? e.g asian tsunami, hurricanes, mass flooding, disease ,wars? . what im trying to say is you could be anywhere at anytime inthe world and you could be faced with a survival situation and natural disaster and it doesnt have to be any certain date?. so i think its always a good thing if you are able to adapt and are prepared just incase you should find yourself in a situation. The world is forever evolving no matter how much damage mankind has inflicted on it and although we are faced with more natural and man-made disasters i dont think every aspect of life will just change on 12-12-2012 ( aspects of life change on a daily basis)
