Often Bacon grease will separate and a small amount of non-goopy goodness is at the bottom.
But those Yum-Yums stuck to the pan get some Wine, Flour and then land on my Bacon-Burger!
No I pour it into a cup and when the cup is full I throw it out.
Nope... I cook my bacon in one of those health grills for the very reason that I don't want minimum bacon grease in my diet!
=)
that sounds absolutely disgusting
Yes, I do. Mmm! SO not healthy, but it's SO good!
My mom does; I know she puts it in green beans, which I always thought made them kind of gross, but everyone else in the family seems to like it. Other than that the grease goes on the dogs' food.
No I don't.It goes straight in the sink with the pan.
I used to way back when in the "olden days". I used to cook a pound of bacon, then fry potatoes in that grease, then save the grease that was left and freeze it to flavor things like potato/corn chowder. Don't do that any more! :(
The (not-so-)secret of my fruit-filled Saturday morning pancake feast!
;-)
No, but i do use just a little sometimes to put on the dogs food. They love the flavor. +5

You're reading When you cook bacon, do you save the bacon grease to use as flavorings in other things (sauces, soups, gravy)?

That sounds good. I'll have to try that. I like to use a little bit when I make bacon gravy or potato soup for added flavor.
