  • It's more due to their different lifestyles. If you go to Canada (I've been there and live in Washington State), and then take a look at United States, you might see a big difference.
  • Well I can say one is that, it seems like canadians take more pride in their cities, it seems they keep them better kept up and pretty looking. Their healthcare and Government are a lot different too, that can cause some tension in itself.
  • I wasn't aware of any tension - not to insinuate that it doesn't exist. I've always carried a lot of respect for that country, if not a little envy. I learned that they have to wait forever to see a doctor, which does cause some serious problems, but that overall, their healthcare system works very well. I've also had a lot of respect for them for many years because they don't go butting thier noses into other country's business all the time, like the US does. +5
  • I don't think there is a lot of tension between American's and Canadians. I live just south of the US-Canadian border and come into contact with Canadians everyday, and travel frequently to Canada and there is really no major issues. Canadians from Montreal do really odd and sometimes dangerous things while driving, but I'm sure most city people drive like assholes regardless of what country they're from. I think there are a lot more differences between french-Canadians in Quebec and US Americans, than all the other Canadian provinces and the US. Sometimes those of us who live in the US just south of Quebec have a hard time understanding some of the things Quebec-Canadians do, but I wouldn't say it creates a lot of tension.
  • Please elaborate more and give specifics. What tensions do you believe there are and why are you making that statement? I am Canadian and I am not aware of any tensions between the two countries. We have been friends, not rivals, for many years and I am curious what it is that you perceive to be tension.
  • Lumber, oil, water, drugs, fear, money, ignorance(on both sides) and bacon. Not necessarily in that order.
  • Canadians superior! Americans inferior!!!!
  • Just because we are next door to each other, basically. And, actually, I don't think there is a lot of tension though. We aren't about to go to war with Canada...
  • I'm from the US. I've been to Canada many times and have never felt tension because I was American. In fact, I've felt safer and more welcome wandering around Canadian Cities than many American cities..
  • Aren't they all Americans?
