No, never. If there's one thing I'm sure of in my life, it's to work against being arrogant. I make sure I keep myself grounded by focusing on helping others rather than dwelling in my personal successes. To me, I find no pleasure in that.

I feel like other people perceive me as arrogant or pretentious but I don't mean to be. I hold myself and my conduct to a certain standard but I don't expect others to behave according to my standards and I don't hold it against them if they don't.

Firstly, there is a big difference(albeit a fine line,) between arrogance and ignorance. I'd rather be arrogant and continue doing something acknowledging it is stupid or unwise, than be ignorant and try to justify to myself why my actions are okay. I know of someone in my life who refuses to grasp these concepts, and it is really hard when someone chooses to be ignorant...
And yes, I am arrogant in many things to some people's view, however I don't want to be different. I revert to non-arrogance at times when needed, but like I said, I'd rather do something I know is stupid and continue to do it honestly than justify why I'm doing something in ignorance and be oblivious. Kinda random to some people I'm sure, but there are people out there who know what I'm talking about...

Oh, I try not too. Talking of myself I don't ever feel the need to be arrogant because I have nothing to be arrogant about. I fall into the catergory of being a happoy sort of person and one who enjoys company etc. unless, of course, me, or mine are threatened, then I may(will) become aggressive but, never arrogant. Hope you are listening Chief.
Can aggression be linked to social status? If so why?
