If a person hurts someone, says they are sorry and it won't happen again, but they hurt either that person or another one again -- do they really feel guilt?

They may feel guilt and simply cannot help being an oaf. Or they may have some kind of mental complex that stops them feeling guilty. Either way, someone to avoid.

NO; they are probably BULLYS who haven't got the balls to pick on someone their own size and /or strength ... and it makes them feel better to pick on those who are not able to defend themselves against their vicious physical attacks .... +5

I think most of them really do feel remorse, even if it comes in the form of self-loathing. Most people don't wake up every day looking forward to the prospect of failing miserably. The repeated mistakes have way more to do with how the person views themselves than the person they hurt. Nevertheless, with some people, it is wise to love them from a distance. +5

I don't know if they feel guilt, depends upon the person and situation. That being said, they do care more about themselves than others. Everybody makes mistakes, but to repeat them might indicate something deeper; (hidden) addictions, guilt (runs so deeply) that their denial (of the impact of their actions/inactions) overwhelmes their sense of "right and wrong". Could be, simply, that their overstepping is an alarm-call for help. Not that hurting others is acceptable; just a possible reason. Maybe they're not too bright. ;)

No. They will do it again and again. I feel so sorry for the women who keep going back to these bastards until they are murdered.

That person obviously cannot keep a promise and is not remorseful. NO guilt at all.
