  • That article is about as useful as the Jesus Project. Dubious testimony of one man? How many men does the author think there were, especially who had access to writing materials and knew how to use them? Not to mention, what reason does he think that person had for lying? I don't know if they had turkey or not, but wild turkey was abundant and they wouldn't have had much reason for being wary. If the colonists were decent shots, I'd say there was as much chance of there being turkey on the table as any other wild fowl. They are decent size birds and you could hit them with a musket about as easily as you could hit a duck or a goose, probably easier as they don't fly quite as well.
  • Another one of those stories. Who knows for sure; they're all dead!
  • Possibly. Considering what a bunch of turkeys the Pilgrims turned out to be...
  • I did not look this up, but if memory serves me, William Bradford's journal mentions turkey at the first Thanksgiving
  • I have no idea? But I gotta tell ya, if the Indians brought the Pilgrims a donkey, instead of a turkey... We would all be eating a nice piece of ass right now!
  • Every picture and photograh i have ever observed, had a cooked turkey in it. Who knows for sure? This tradition came from somehwere, so i guess this is what we are to believe.
