  • You shouldn't do anything for anyone "just because they want you too". If you really want to get your dog neutered, then you simply will. And if you don't, you won't. Pretty cut and dry.
  • You must consider to do so(for female chi),since female chi were known to dead or suffer in pain while they're pregnant, chi is one of few small breeds which need extra(human) help when they're pregnant, they give birth through surgery(they posses smaller hip bones, and too weak to push their babies) and they're also easily get stressed during pregnancy. You can resist(for male chi),they're only problematic when in 'season',and there's just a bit difference from neutered pets(except overweight and laziness because they're not use their energy to fullfill their nature anymore).
  • not because they want you to but because there is an abundance of unwanted pets and its the right thing to do.
  • First it's not "cruel". Unless you are planning to breed your dog -- it's much more humane and responsible to neuter him. You will have a much happier pet too.
  • If your dog never goes out alone and you carry it in a little purse? What's the point? If you let it paruse the neighborhood for lonely poodles... Then I would, no one needs any ugly, homeless animals running about beggin for coins on street corners. You will force the poor little guy into selling Pig's ears off the freeway to support his 27 half breed poodlhuahua's or sitting on the sidewalk with a sign that says Will say "yo quero taco bell." for cash."
  • It turns out dogs don't need their testicles as much as humans need theirs. Dogs live just fine, perhaps even better lives without their dangly parts.
  • It's not cruel, and neither males or females "miss" being able to reproduce, because they don't think about sex, except with there is a Female in heat that is being smelled. Animal's drive to reproduce is stimulated by hormones, that's all. Mentally it won't hurt him a bit. I am pretty on board for Spaying and Neutering because there are over a THOUSAND dogs and puppies KILLED EVERY SINGLE WEEK IN THE USA, simply because not enough people are adopting those "unwanted" dogs and pups...they are WONDERFUL DOGS AND PUPS...just not enough forever homes opening to them! However, if you are capable of insuring that your male will NOT be able to gain access to a bitch in heat, you may want to read up on it. While Neutering is pretty non-invasive (they are not cutting him open and removing body parts as with a spay) there are those who feel it should not simply be done as a matter of course. You can assuredly do some research on your own to get the facts and then make an informed decision. Here is one place to start: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ClassicalHomeopathyPets/?yguid=354615195 You can join for free, then just post the question, What are the pros and cons for neutering my male dog? If you choose NOT to neuter, then you must be firmly dedicated to NOT ALLOWING HIM TO GET LOOSE, because he may smell a female in heat as far away as five blocks from where you live, and NOT breeding at all. Otherwise you are CONTRIBUTING to the 1,000 dead dogs and puppies problem we already have going on.
  • Spaying and neutering is NOT cruel. It is actually the best thing you can do for your pet and its health. It helps curb territorial marking, aggression, roaming, unwanted litters, behavioral problems, etc., and prevents many cancers like testicular and mammary cancers.
