Yes it might because of competition of the same gender and territorial problem,but another simple reason could be that your outdoor cat hasn't been introduced to your previous indoor cat at the time you brought her to your house,so they haven't bond on each other(the indoor one might consider the outdoor one as 'stranger').
The best way to avoid this is to separate that two cats in different places.(you can't teach your indoor cat to like or accept your outdoor cat anymore).
Because they are both of the same gender, it MIGHT be because on wants to have "terrirotial control," and doesn't want to share that, with any other female kitten.
Some animals are VERY "territorial."

My cat absolutely hates my stepson. If he gets within 20 feet of her she hisses and meows she doesn't do this with anyone else, why?

my 2 year old female attacks me for no reason and im not sure why? she bie my ankles etc when i walk past and even when shes on my lap,help?
