When friends you really enjoy leave AB, do you keep them on your Friends List in case they return or purge the list to make space and hope you spot them if they ever return?

I have purged the list after months of inactivity only to have someone show up and ask if I were angry at him. So he asked for reinstatement which I did and now I won't purge anyone anymore based on that reason. :) When I leave someplace I'm gone for good. But I have observed others are not like me. They leave, they return, they leave again, they return again. I don't know if it is that they miss us or rather that what they are seeking outside of AB keeps disappointing them so they come back to the "sure thing" until they get ticked off again and split again! :)

AB allows unlimited space for our friends lists.
Then there is no point in removing a friend without a very valid reason.
Inactive members always stay in my list.
My problems are mainly with friends who have this habit of changing their names and avatars simultaneously.
Otherwise it is 'God is in his heaven and all is well with the world' for me.
