Help answer this question below.
Twisted, taken out of context, and changed so much I hardly recognize the grain of truth.
There is a prophecy which states that the U.S. Constitution will hang by a thread, and that it will be the elders of the Church who shall save it.
The Church has never endorsed or condoned a "convert or die" mentality.
I'm mormon, and I've never heard anything like that in my life.
I double dead dog dare them to talk that crap in my neighborhood. Talk is cheap. Mormons are a tiny minority, most men think they are the strongest and bravest. Talk is cheap. Mormons don't knock on doors in my town.
This is close, but you got off the track after your first word.
There are several prophecies which tells us that the time will come, in the not too far distant future, when the US will become a huge battlefield.
Father's will be fighting and killing their sons and Mothers will be killing their daughters and visa versa.
And mobs will rule neighborhoods, cities and states. Just prior to the coming of Christ.
When that happens everyone who will not take up the sword,(Gun) to defend themselves against their neighbors will have to flee to the Rocky Mountains to seek safety with the Saints in the Salt Lake Valleys.
Our US Government will collapse and the Constitution will hang by a thread. When suddenly the Saints will step forth with a Political organization based on the Constitution and save the country from all other nations wanting to take over our country.
The people of United States will plead to be protected by this new Government set up by the "Mormons".
This organization will not be the Church, and it will not be staffed by "Mormons only, but will have non-Mormons helping to make laws as well.
No one will have to leave their Church, they will be allowed to worship anyway they choose. But this organization,(The Kingdom of God) will ensure everybody's freedom.
And eventually it will rule all the nations of the world, after Christ returns. This is a very short version, but I think you can get the jest of what will happen soon.
You do not have to believe me, but just keep your eyes and ears open, the time for this is not too far distant...Later
I wouldn't bat an eyelash in surprise if that were so.
The whole story is told on a website called "The Elohim War".
I'm not exactly sure about the U.S. turning into the "Mormon Kingdom" but we do believe that the kingdom of god will spread all over the earth (see Daniel 2:44)--which we interpret to be the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We do not kill people for not joining the LDS Church--God does not force people to join the LDS Church and neither should we.

You're reading Is it true mormon "prophesy" says the United States will eventually be the mormon kingdom of Zion and that Joseph Smith said it "Will be that- or the sword"? Does it mean they will kill anyone who doesn't Join them?

Go to mormonzeitgiest.com and read what an ex- mormon has to say on there. He quotes smith saying a time would come when it would either be the church or the sword. Go read it. I didn't write it though I've heard stranger things from current day mormons. Maybe it's something you've never heard in your church. I'm sure they don't want people talking about it until they are almost ready to take over. When you figure how few people it took for the bolsheviks to take over russia or Hitler to take over most of europe- you can get an idea of how they think it's possible.

Anon, I know you didn't write it or make it up. You got it from a whacked-out site. Do not believe everything which is posted on the internet.

Oh, but I don't believe it all. But I do believe many of the mormons I've talked to who say some of the same things.
